Health Science Courses

Welcome to my online classroom for the Health Science Pathway 2022-2023.  This pathway is designed to provide for the development of advanced knowledge and skills related to a wide variety of health careers. Students will employ hands-on experiences for continued knowledge and skill development. In order to pursue a career in the health science industry, students should recognize, learn to reason, think critically, make decisions, solve problems, and communicate effectively. Students should recognize that quality health care also depends on the ability to work well with others. We are currently using a very user friendly web-based google suite education system. Health Science Practicum 1^st and 2nd Block

COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

Because this course involves students applying their skills in a practical setting, it’s reserved for those in grade 12, since they’re further along the pathway and have the pre-requisite courses and a greater body of knowledge to draw from. The students can expect to work the first nine weeks through the theory and lab section of the course and venture out to the community to shadow healthcare professionals the second nine weeks.

Upon completing Practicum in Health Science, my students will have gained valuable experience and be one step closer to certification. The certification goal for our campus is Certified Phlebotomy Technician through NHA.
