Emergency Medical Technician Program 1st and 2nd Block
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The EMT Basic course provides foundational training in emergency medical care, focusing on life-saving techniques and pre-hospital care. Students learn to assess, stabilize, and transport patients experiencing medical emergencies, including trauma, cardiac, and respiratory events. The course prepares students for certification and entry-level positions as Emergency Medical Technicians, equipping them with the skills needed to respond effectively in high-pressure situations.
The course is taught Fall and Spring (18 week course).
Principles of Health Science 3rd and 4th Block

The Principles of Health Science course offers an introduction to the healthcare industry, covering essential topics such as medical terminology, healthcare systems, and basic patient care skills. Students explore various health professions, gaining insight into career opportunities and the educational pathways needed to pursue them. This course lays a strong foundation for further studies in health science, helping students develop a comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities within the healthcare field. |
