Course Description: Pre-Calculus is a course designed to prepare students for Calculus. The course will cover various topics, including algebra, functions, trigonometry, and analytic geometry.

Goals:

  • Develop a strong foundation in algebra and trigonometry
  • Understand and use functions and their graphs
  • Solve real-world problems using algebra, trigonometry, and functions
  • Prepare for Calculus by reviewing and extending algebraic and trigonometric concepts

Textbook:

  • Pre-Calculus with Limits, 3rd edition by Ron Larson

Grading:

  • Assessments: 50%
  • Assignments: 25%
  • Midterm/Final Exam 25%

Homework: Homework will be assigned regularly and due by midnight. It is expected that students will complete all homework assignments on time.

Attendance: Regular attendance is essential for success in this course. Students are expected to attend all classes and arrive on time. If a student must miss a class, it is their responsibility to obtain any missed notes and assignments.

Academic Honesty: Plagiarism and cheating will not be tolerated. Students found engaging in academic dishonesty will receive a zero on the assignment and may face further consequences.
