About Me

Educational History:

I graduated from Zapata High School on May, 1989. I had already begun to take college classes during my senior year, so I went directly to college after graduation.  I spent 2 years attending Laredo Junior College, as it was called at the time.  After those 2 years, I applied to the University of Houston and I was accepted.  I was there for 4 years and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.  After graduating from U of H, I returned home and applied for my Master’s degree at Texas A&M International University.  My Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology was completed in 3 years.

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Houston

Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M Interational University

Previous Position:

I began teaching at LBJ High school in 2001 when it opened.  I spent 5 years there and then transferred to GWMS where I taught in a self contained classroom for 10 years.  After GWMS, I transferred here to USHS.

I have worked with the deaf, the chemically dependent, the mentally ill, and with special needs students.  I am very fluent in both English and Spanish, and I know conversational sign language.

Family Information:
